Any help or tips on areas to fish, fly types (colours, types, sizes etc) and any other areas that you think may be helpful would be much appreciated and greatly received.  Regards, Marques Church |

I'd expect the highest temperatures of the year (and some afternoon thunderstorms..) bring also the light gear - I'd bring one rod between #4-7 and one between #0-3…4 pc  Conditions are not predictable but I'd expect low water levels… Also breathable waders might help and timing for fishing early mornings and late afternons-till dark… Flies, rivers, fish, and places are a bit wide issue to cover…so I'd suggest you surf through those yourself… F |

Hey marqueschurch and welcome to our forum board! In Slovenia there are many beautiful flyfishing districts so it is extremely difficult to give you an universal guiding lines or tips about which flies to use and where to fish. As Fish said, water level might be low at some rivers which means fishing may get more difficult. Fish will be spooky so you should be very careful when wading just to ensure that you will see them first and not vice versa My suggestion concerning fishing places would be: Soca river (will be just perfect for a dry-fly fishing at that time!), Idrijca river (might be low and clear but with intense evening hatch), Radovna and Sava Bohinjka rivers. If you are keen on fishing the chalk-streams then you should try Unica and Krka rivers also.  That´s it I think your week will be very short so enjoy every second of it! Tight lines, Lucky |
