I thought I would share a couple patterns from my area.

I dont know if you really want to tie this one since the marble trout only seemed to want to chase, not eat them, but I did catch some rainbows on it.

'Butt Monkey'

Butt: Marabou
Tail: Rabbit Strip
Body : Dubbing or chenille wrapped over .30 lead
Legs: Rubber legs
Head and collar: lambs wool spun over dumbbell eyes

I hope you like it.

Also, please dont mind the pictures in the washroom. The light is best in there. And I swear that girly bath stuff is all my wifes!

Hi, the flies looks super and I see no reason why the marbles didnt like them (maybe cause slovene fishes dont like the origin of the patterns). Looks like marbles are more patriotic than it seems .

Hey MikeL,

great patterns and they should work for the marbles too. You should try them when the water is a little murky- I am sure they would work well!

And of course we don´t mind that you took photos of your streamers in the washroom , but make sure that you don´t leave them there- your wife could get scared like hell

Thanks for your post and tight lines,
Lucky

It would seem this statement is true. Id be happy to show you all some other patterns your snobby marble trout rejected, if you like.

Well guys I was kidding with that "patriotic" statement. The patters are really nice ones, but it is wery hard to catch a marble in cristal clear water with streamer. I think that Urni Sulec was right when he stated that water lewel of the river is perfect for catching marbles when water is tree times higher and murky one.

PS: Maybe streamers are a litte too light

This is very true. The last day I was fishing, I rigged up a wooly bugger under a float and fished it like a nymph. I briefly had a very nice fish on the line, but it came unbuttoned.

I was fishing streamers on a 350grain, type 8 shooting head and wasn't having any difficulties finding bottom. I think those fish were just too smart for me.

Next year will be my year!

Dede,

That is a nice little fly. I imagine you could get some interest from the marbles were it a different color, no?

Here is another American pattern that I tied for the trip but did not fish. It has quite an erratic, darting action when stripped and has done well for me over here. Unfortunately, I did not give it much of a chance in your country. It needs to be fished on a sinking line to be effective.
