 Hej,,,

Malo z zamudo, pa vendarle... tule je kratko poročilce z ribolova na Unici, ki je bila v teh pozno poletnih dneh zaradi nizkega vodostaja precej zahtevna za ribolov. Kljub temu sem se odločil, da jo obiščem in ni mi bilo žal Naključje je hotelo, da smo se na Unici tistega dne zbrali kar trije forumovci: Fish, josko in jaz, ne da bi se o tem poprej dogovorili Tako je dan v prijetni družbi in ob odličnem ribolovu minil kot bi mignil, ostali pa so lepi spomini. Dovolite, da vam jih nekaj predstavim še na spodnjih fotografijah :


[Unica zjutraj- vreme je bilo zelo obetavno, vendar se je kmalu čez oblake prebilo sonce]


[Unica je tisti dan tekla zeeeloooo počasi ]


[Na gladini je že veliko listja, ki zna biti malček nadležno ]

 LUKA, fantastične slike, kako si dosegel spodnji efekt, je to kaka posebna tehnika fotografiranja ? Ali to dela sam fotoaparat ? Kateri foto aparat uporabljaš ?? Res mi je všeč !!

Res lepe slike Luka. In še lepši dan.

Imel sem skoraj big grand slam Sem dobil ščuko, klena in lipana brez problemov, postrv pa nikakor nobena ni prišla ven... Nekaj sem jih falil, nekaj potrgal, nekaj se jih je snelo, dostikrat jo je prehitel lipan.... pa drugič

Yes, Unica water level is very low and I personally prefer a little higher one (Fish and josko probably wouldn´t agree ). Rain is forecasted for the end of this week, but I am afraid the amount will be rather small... too small

Iz aparata je težko izvabiti takšno fotko, zato je potrebno nekaj kombiniranja- tu je uporabljena tehnika HDR, v kateri so v eni fotki združene tri enake, vendar različno osvetljene. Slikal pa sem z zrcalno refleksnim digitalcem Nikon D90 s širokokotnim objektivom Tokina 11-16mm f2,8.

Lep dan je bil ja in tudi tista tvoja ščuka je bila čudovita! Jih je v Unici opaziti kar nekaj in tudi precej visoko pridejo...

 Ciao vsem!
Glede na to da prvič pišem na tem forumu se vam najprej na hitro predstavim. Ime mi je Robert Vrčon, sem slovenec doma in Ankarana ampak že deset let živim blizu Milana v Italiji. Predno sem se preselil v Milan sem bil kar vrsto let član Koprske ribiške družine in strasten obiskovalec naše Rižane in drugih Slovenskih rek. Odkar sem v Italiji sem pa ribolov v Sloveniji in sploh na rekah zapustil in se posvetil muharjenju na morju. Šele lani sem se po dolgem spet vrnil na ribolov s Slovenijo in obiskal Unec, Savinjo in Bohinjko. Tako so me slovenske reke in narava ob njih ponovno začarale in sem se začel ponovno posvečat tudi sladkovodnemu muharjenju. Tako sem se odločil malo pobrskati po internetu, da bi dobil več informacij o tem kaj se dogaja v Sloveniji okrog muharjenja in sem naletel na ta forum, ki je bil pravo presenečenje. Iskrene čestitke Luki in vsem, ki redno prispevate k rasti tega muharskega kotička. Lepi prispevnki, izredno lepe slike in zdi se mi tudi ogromno strasti in ljubezni do muharjenja in narave. Bravo vsem!!!
No dovolj nakladanja za enkrat. Gremo raje kar h ribolovu. Prejšnji teden sem se spet odpeljaj za reko. Hotel sem na Idrijco (zgornji del). Ko sem pa šel mimo Unice in videl v kako lepem stanju je bila sem se kar ustavil. Mislim, da sem se kar pravilno odločil. Dan je bil res enkraten. Vodostaj pravi, ribe aktivne cel dan na suho muho. Ujel sem kar nekaj lepih lipanov in vmes kakšno potočno. Popoldan se je kar lepo ulilo vendar je dež trajal le pol urce. Potem so pa ribe ponovno ponorele. Na vodi le bilo na tisoče majevk vendar se ribe za njih sploh niso zmenile. Že leta nisem videl toliko majevk. Samo njihovo rojenje je že bilo vredno poti iz Milana.
Prilagam vam še par slik. Se opravičujem za kvaliteto ampak jih je bila večina narejena s telefonom. Aparat sem namreč pozabil v Milanu.








Kaj naj še rečem......enkratno je bilo in upam, da bom kmalu spet za vodo. Upam, da se bomo kdaj tudi srečali za vodo.

 Hello from Finland,

First post here, but I have been reading this forum a bit and enjoyed the great photographs!

I'm looking forward to visiting Slovenia again in the last week of June. Part of the plan is to visit Postojna and from the map it looks it's not too far away from the river Unica. So I wonder if anyone here know if it's possible to get to the river from Postojna without renting a car?

I don't really like driving in foreign countries, so basically I'm looking for places that have easy access from wherever I'll be staying. Even a taxi will be ok for me if they will take me to the river.

Also, I'd like to know if it's possible to purchase fishing license to Unica anywhere in Postojna? Or should I buy it at for example Fauna in Bled before going to Postojna?

How good is fishing on Unica usually in late June? What kind of hatches there are during that time, is it only mayflies or are the sedges as well? Should I be prepared for extremely difficult fish or is it possible to catch something on the first visit to Unica?

Huh, a lot of questions! I'm very thankful if some of you can answer to at least some of them!

 I could try to answer few of them, but there are many more competent members here;

1. It would be a very long walk from Postojna to Unica (afaic).
2. Taxi should bring you straight to the river's epicentre, so to speak.
3. Not sure about obtaining the license - check the fisheries institute's website (www.zzrs.si) or contact them otherwise
4. Fishing Unica in late June should be at it's peak, both mayflies and caddis hatch is taking place at that time, not sure about the efficiency of either though, but i'd vote for mayfly.

 Hi just to add to sulec riba post.

I think you can take bus from Postojna to Planina (which is near Unica river). I think the best option is to take Veolia bus which goes from Piran to Ljubljana and is passing Postojna and Planina. It starts at around 6 o clock. You can retun with bus from Ljubljana to Piran or Nova gorica both are returning trough Postojna. Best option would be to go to bus station in Postojna and ask for transportation options.

I checked the Veolia transport website, and yes it seems like a good option to take the bus to Planina. I couldn't find the exact location of the bus stop in Planina, but I figure it shouldn't be too far from the river, looking at googlemaps I would guess less than 1 kilomtere? Well, at least much less than from Postojna.

Maybe I should go there the day before I go fishing just to walk around, so I can see the area and find some good spots.

I figure since Unica has such a prestigious reputation that there will be lots of fishermen on the river during end of June? I don't mind, I can watch what other people do and try to learn something!

 Hi again,

I guess that best option is to wisit bus station, they should be able to tell you departure and arrival times and where bus station is. Good option is to go there day before to check water level, and to "spy" on what people are using to catch fish.

Ne, seveda ni skrivnost Nad vodo sem snemal z Nikon D90 + Nikkor 105mm/ f2.8 (v bistvu sem testiral objektiv, ki mi ga je posodil glavni igralec v filmu, dickerson ), pod vodo pa s full HD kamero ContourHD v podvodnem ohišju.

Sem se pa spomnil, da bi lahko posnel material za filmček šele enkrat pozno popoldne, od 17h naprej, ko je bilo že relativno malo svetlobe oz. precej sence, zato so predvsem podvodni posnetki temnejši in manj barvno pravilni kot bi si želel...

 Lovil sem vsega skupaj eno urico na Bači, ki je mimogrede
neverjetno spremenila potek struge ob ogromnih nasipih. Majhne nimfice so se zelo izkazale. Zatem sem skočil še na Trebuščico, prav tako le za urico- večerni skok, ki pa se je zgodil v pravem pomenu besede, kar še nikoli nisem doživel v vseh letih muharjenja na tej reki. Ribe so neumorno pobirale, niso pa se upirale tudi moji imitaciji bwo-ja. Skratka enkratno ! Lep muharski pozdrav !

ob vsesplošnem pomanjkanju časa sem vendarle zbral nekaj jesenskih utrinkov z Unice



























Jesen je letos očitno zelo kratka, vseeno pa upam, da nam to zimsko vreme nakloni še kakšen lep dan, preživet na reki...

Thanks again for this info, that's how I go to the river.

I finally made it to the Unica river during my trip on August 16th (not June as I originally planned).

Beautiful river, and I saw a lot of good sized grayling. However the day was sunny and hot, the water level was low, so the fishing was very challenging. I couldn't figure out what the fish were eating, mostly something near the bottom of the river, so not much luck with dry flies.

I only managed to get one strike! But, some learning experiene, as I'd never fished a chalk stream before, and maybe better luck next time.

Very nice! I see that you enjoyed a lot, despite the low water level and only one strike ... Unica can get really challenging then... but still sooooo beautiful
