V ozračju so se intenzivno oblikovali oblaki. Ali bo zdržalo...

Kar kmalu je sledil prvi prijem. Le katera riba bo to...

Soška!!! Jasno!

Avtor pač ne more brez cigare!

V tem je mladi Tadej v sosednjem čolnu spet zapel ribo...

In riba je v mreži. Bravo, Tadej!!!

Na koncu nas je presenetil še lipan!

No in ta lipan je prispeval še zadnji portret.

Hej,,,

@samaki

Lucky

Sic transit gloria mundi!

Lep pozdrav in dober prijem vsem čanom foruma.

Great report, President "Samaki", bravo !

I've never fished the Most na Soci reservoir, but sooner or later I'll have to try.

It's always nice to see kids fishing, and I look forward to bring my 6 years old in Slovenia as soon as he will be able and willing to fly-fish (maybe when he'll be around 10), and the R.D. Tolmin regulations are a great incentive, since kids under 15 can fish for free with their fathers.

I see that you like to smoke a nice Toscano just like I do: it's a nice companion before, during and after fishing ... maybe we should start a topic about cigars and fly-fishing !

Hello, Dickerson!

Yes, itˇs Toscano antico cut in half. For me the best cigar in the world. Long time ago, I used to smoke cuban cigars but when I had discovered this one, I changed my mind!

However, if you wish to fish on the Most na Sochi lake, just tell, and we will arange a boat for you.

Tight lnes,
samaki

OK "Samaki", in 2009 I will accept your kind proposal and fish the Most na Soci reservoir from a boat.

I use to smoke Habanos as well as Toscani, but while the Italian cigars are very easy-going smokes and can be enjoyed in (almost) any situations, the Cubans require more "attention", and it's better to light them at home with a fine liquor and a good book.

Well, youˇre right. Even myself, i have some Partagas, Monte Christo, Romeo and Julliet, Cohiba etc in my humidor but they are being "terminated" only on special ocasions, preferably with a glass of Armagnac XO.

When you come next year, we must find such a moment in order to enjoy it together!

Hey “Samaki”, take a look at this picture !

I look forward to smoke a fine Habano with you next year in Tolmin, and remember this equation: cigars are to cigarettes what bamboo rods are to graphite.

Hello, Dickerson!

Exquisite cigars
Well, do you have a passing reel to your bamboo rod? Like this one?

Pozdravljen Ras,

Lep pozdrav in dober prijem1

Thank you Luka, Mike and everybody for your friendship and support !

This forum hosts an extraordinary group of "brothers of the feather", and everybody here (from the President of the most important fishing club of the country all the way down to the novice fly-fisherman) is willing and happy to share and contribute for the benefit of the entire community.

So let me stress the importance of Lucky's remarks, and to invite all fellow foreign anglers who love Slovenia to get on board and be part of this great international on-line "family" !

Hoj samaki,

Pestra reportaža ni kaj in krasne ribe !

lep pozdrav

Spuscajmo Avtohtone ribe!

Nice reel Samaki. I like its simple, understated look and the choice of wood. Was it made by a local craftsman or did you buy it elsewhere ?

It was a gift from an Italian friend from Udine. It is also made in Friuli.

Now, the water conditions on all our rivers are excellent. Will you come?

Carissimo Presidente,

I really wish I could, but I've just returned from a short family seaside vacation, and I won't be able to fish your beautiful rivers until spring 2009.

P.S.: Check your e-mail later today, I've got something to discuss with you ...

Hey Enrico - Dickerson,
I'm more than convinced that Samaki's wooden reel was made by Enzo Bardus from Cividale - Friuli. See the photo below and compare the reel with Samaki's. I can't see any diferences...

Thank you Ras,
I can't see any difference either.
Nice reel, by the way, a little bit more rugged and "workingmanlike" than the polished jewels that Mr. Giorgio Dallari makes in Modena.
I quite like the matte finish.

Post Scriptum:
A presto.
Enrico
