Hey Yucca,,,

Nice hearing from you! Well, the weather in Slovenia is more "spring like" with temperatures from 10-15 °C.

Sava Bohinjka river which flows from Bohinjsko lake downstream towards Bled, is a perfect choice for flyfishermen in that time of the year. And it is not so big really, so it is a true pleasure to fish there

There is also a smaller river (more like a creek) named Mostnica, which flows to the Sava Bohinjka river just a few steps downstream from the Bohinjsko lake. It is really small but also a great flyfishing experience. Fishing there is a subject of special rules which permit only 5 fishermen per day (5 C&R licences), so maybe it wouldn´t be a bad idea to make a reservation as soon as possible. I am not so familiar with the present regime there but you may take alook at this site of the Bohinj Fishing Club which manages the upper Sava Bohinjka river and Mostnica river: http://www.bohinj.si/rd/en/

But if you will be staying at Bled it would be a pitty not to try your luck at the Radovna river also - it is just a few kilometers away from Bled and it really offers a first- class flyfishing- for more information about this river you may take a look at my site in the "Rivers and districts" section -> Radovna river . Well Radovna is a "dream river" for me, with lots of fast rapids, nice pools and crystal clear water...In other words- you should try it It is managed by the States fisheries Institute and you may buy a licence at the local restaurant/inn or at the flyfishing shop at Bled.

Thats it! I am sure that you will enjoy your stay in Slovenia. If you will need any further information in a next few months please feel free to write your thoughts or questions down and we will try to help you...

Tight lines,
Lucky

Thank´s a lot !

I have checked your site and catched lot of information. I think we will meet Radovna, Sava Bohinjka and maybe Mostnica.
I have two son´s with me ages 12 and 16. Is the fishinglicense same to them or is it personal. In Finland it is common way that license includes whole family. Even in famous salmonriver´s. But before we can buy anykind of fishing lisence we neet to buy covernment official fishingcard - is it so in those river above that you need only one license/person.

One thing more - is River Sava Dolinka too big for flyfishing in lower parts near Bled or is it forbidden area.

We have now -25 c - good time for flytying ...

Hey yucca,,,

Well in these days, winter has come to our country too

Hmm... I am not sure about the possibility of such "family" licences at the Slovenian flyfishing districts. In Slovenia there are many organizations which have their own regulations on licences, so you should contact them in order to get that specific information. You will be fishing at the Sava Bohinjka river (which is divided in three parts, managed by the FC Bohinj, State´s fisheries Institute and FC Bled). Mostnica is also managed by the FC Bohinj and Radovna by the State´s fisheries Institute. I know that some time ago there was a possibility which allow you to fish with your family members, younger then 15 years of age, at the waters, managed by the State´s fisheries Institute using one licence. But I am not sure if this is still the case For the rivers, managed by the FC Bohinj and FC Bled, I am almost sure that you will have to buy three licences for each of you- but again, I suggest you to contact them directly to get correct information regarding this matter.

Sava Dolinka river is fishable to the confluence with the Sava Bohinjka river. That´s the place where river Sava begins its long way to the East (river Sava itself might also be a great choice for flyfishing just below the confluence and a number of kilometers downstream from there. This part of Sava is managed by the FC of Radovljica). Sava Dolinka is most beautiful in its part upstream from Jesenice towards Mojstrana and Kranjska Gora, but you may find some really nice locations in its lower part also (downstream from Jesenice). It is certainly not too big for flyfishing

I hope this information helps you! If someone knows more regarding Yuccas questions- please respond

Tight lines or "dober prijem",
Lucky
