Back from my vacation and a couple of days fishing down in Slovenia and Soca valley. I was down week 29. The weather was great, the rivers crystal clear and the fishing was good. I catched some great rainbows, beautiful trouts and fantastisc graylings mostly on nymphs. What I will remember from this trip is the enormous marble trout that attacked the rainbow trout I just had catch. I got the rainbow in the middle of the stream, it went upstreams but turned around quickly down again toward me. Just 2 meters in front of me the marble trout attacked the rainbow. The size of the rainbow trout was approx. 1 kg and belive me, the marble could take it just in one bite, it was enormous.... a giant. When the marble was just 1 cm from the rainbow it turned around and went back to the stream. I was in state of shoke... I hade some heavy 15 cm streamers in my fly box but those seemed to be to small for this fish... I tried but without any success.. Some pictures Got it! This was my 9th time in the Socavalley but not the last, I actually would like to come down in September again to fish but my schedule will probably not let me down...
