Slovenija je lepa država in ribalov je zelo dobro. (This is probably unreadable but I am trying to learn and was able to communciate fairly well with the locals  )       Also, sorry about the fish on ground photo, I forgot my net 100m up stream and had to beach the fish in order to land it. Hehe MikeL, don`t worry, your text in slovene was all understandable  That Marble is very nice- congratulations..we all know how hard is to catch fish like this in so low water level

Najlepša hvala look. Postrv jesne (eat?) 'nymphs'. Muharjenje v reke Idrijca in reke Trebuščina. Sem v Sloveniji med 'Metalkamp' v Tolmin. Reke Soča ima veliko 'Metalheads' in ne ribim. Hotim ribolov reke Soča na kasneje dopusto. |

Živjo MikeL!  Hvala za čudovito poročilo! Vidim, da si se lepo nalovil in da si preživel nekaj krasnih dni na rekah tolminskega muharskega okoliša. Čestitke tudi za obe soški postrvi, pa tudi šarenke so izredno lepe! Upam, da se kmalu vrneš v Slovenijo in poskusiš srečo tudi na rekah, na katerih ti tokrat ni uspelo loviti (npr. na Soči, Bači, Tolminki). Tvoja slovenščina pa je res lepo presenečenje! Glede na to kako težka je, ti gre odlično! Le tako naprej! ----- Zdaj pa še v angleščini :Hey MikeL! Thank you a lot for a wonderful report! I see that you had a great time and that you fished well at the rivers of the Tolmin fly fishing district. Congratulations for both marble trouts and for the nice rainbows too! I hope you will be back to Slovenia soon to try your luck at some other rivers that you didn´t fish this time (for ex. at the Soca, Baca, Tolminka rivers). Yours Slovenian is really a nice surprise! It is quite difficult to learn it and so far you are doing a great job in learning it. Just keep on in this manner! ----- Are you also professionally related to the linguistics and languages? Hvala, slovenščina je težek jezik. Ne razumem 'professionally related to the linguistics and languages'. Moj 'great grandparents' onadva sta slovenec ampak imajo nemec 'surnames'. (Is this what you meant?) You may resize my photos if you wish.

Hey MikeL,,, By asking about your professional relation to the languages I meant if you have studied languages or if your profession demands knowledge of foreign languages? Well, so far I know at least two reasons why are you so interested in Slovenian - your ancestors were Slovenian and you chose Slovenia as your fly fishing destination and you wanted to learn some words and sentences to make communication easier  I have already resized your photos, so they nicely fit in the forum board frame Many thanks for your contribution and tight lines, Lucky [ Edited Monday 13 August 2007 - 19:54:07 ] |

You have got it luckyluke. Its just a desire to learn another language (I speak some Spanish also). Since I enjoyed your country so much I will continue learning and hopefully be more fluent next year when I return. | ||
