Hallo,

I am interested to know what you people think about the chance that Soca will have good waterlevel next week when I am planing to fish Soca from Bovec to Tolmin. The weather forecasts say there more rain coming in so I suppose it will affect Soca negative.

Will appreciate every answer

Best regards from Sweden

Lech

Hi,

Also interested in your opinions regarding the other rivers in RD Tolmins area.

Have plans to go down for fishing between 27th April to 1st of May.

All feedback is welcome!

Best regards,

Czech

Hey guys,,,

@Lech

Well, it is hard to say what will be the weather like in the following week, but as it looks today, conditions will be o.k. I think that the Soca river will be already fishable this weekend and if there will be no rain, conditions should be just perfect next week...

@Czech

Dont worry about the conditions, just tie your flies and prepare for the trip! Conditions should be perfect at the end of April...

Just an additional info- if you take a look at the WATER LEVELS link at the right side of the website (under the weather forecast graphics) you will get the data on water levels and discharge (m3/sek).

For the Soca river (Soca Log Cezsoski), best values are from 10-25 m3/sek and for the Idrijca river (Idrijca Podroteja), from 3-7 m3/sek.

Tight lines and we will keep in touch on recent water conditions,
Lucky

Can I please have an status update. Seems like the waterlevels still are high. Looking today at Idrijca which have rising a lot.

Will it be fishable during next week?

Thanks in advance,

Hey Czech,,,

You are probably asking for the Tolminska region right?

It has always been very tricky to predict the conditions for a week or so in advance, especially in April when the weather is very unstable. Today it looks like a summer, but tomorrow it may be very winter like

Yesterday afternoon it looked like the cold front has quickly passed the territory of Slovenia so I was very optimistic for the rest of the week, but unfortunatelly second front built up in the western part of Slovenia- it has been passing Slovenia quite slowly, during the majority of todays day. Lots of rain has risen the water levels to the big yearly values, but... If there will be no more rain, smaller streams will be fishable in two days, Idrijca for the weekend and Soca maybe next week... Todays forecasts for next week look quite promising, but you cant be sure with the weather

I hope this answer helps you...

Tight lines,
Lucky

p.s.: ...but if you are into big marble trouts, such conditions with higher water levels are just perfect- recently Mr. Urni sulec, the specialist for large marble trouts, posted this report. Just take a look at the bottom of the linked page...
