I was wondering if anyone knows if there is maps (paper maps) out there that I can get which include the rivers of Slovenia in detail? In particular a map which covers the area around IG town which includes the Iscica and Iska rivers would be very useful. I will be there this summer to fish and would like to follow these rivers myself. |

I suggest that you use satellite view in google map and type in Ig (Slovenia). You can follow the entire stream or use NV atlas povezava [link] it is similar tool.

Hey Irishflyfisher,,, yes, of course there are some nice maps of the area- you may buy them just a few steps away from the entrance into the famous Krizanke open air theatre in the centre of Ljubljana. Shop is named "Kod & Kam" and you may visit their website here: povezava [link] . But I usually do like fishman has suggested- I do a few printouts of the area, stick them together and add a layer of thin transparent film over it. If you have a mobile gps navigation, you may also use it, because this area is nicely covered, especially if you use Adria Route maps... I hope this helps Tight lines, Lucky [ Edited Wednesday 25 February 2009 - 21:59:41 ] |

Hello Fishman and Luckyluke. Thanks for your suggestions on river maps. I'm afraid I am a bit old fashioned and like to have the real things (maps) if I can get them. I will visit 'Kod & Kam' when I am in Ljubljana, but will go with the google maps suggestion for now. |

Thanks for your reply Igor. These small scale maps are ideal for a wandering angler like me. | ||
